Young Police Officer shot; still in critical condition

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – PO1 Jesamm Jed Catacutan is currently in a coma fighting for his life at the Intensive Care Unit of Mendero Hospital after sustaining a gunshot injury at the back of the head while on his way to his post at eight o’clock in the morning, yesterday.

The newly-recruited police officer went to a convenience store near GSIS Office, for his prepaid load when unknown assailants in a motorcycle shot him at the back of his head severely hitting his spinal cord. The bullet went out his face and hit another bystander.

According to the Facebook status of Catacutan’s cousin, Sandra Zamora Galucan, their family is up to now, clueless on who the assailant is given the amiable disposition of Jed.

The local police are still on their investigation as to who the culprit was and its motive in doing so. The family, friends, workmates, and former classmates of PO1 Catacutan deeply mourns for justice on his mishap.

  4. We will always remember this guy. Silent, Enigmatic, to a certain degree strict but he was looked up to by many of us. He was proficient, he was disciplined, and most of all he was a friend to all of his men, his peers, and his superiors. He will be remembered, and he will be avenged.
